Christmas Memories in the Old Pueblo
December 3, 2022 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
Holiday season celebrations are unique to every community – there is a combination of past traditions and new traditions that reflect the physical changes of the place you call home. Tucson at Christmas time changed as the community grew, new modes of transportation became a reality, and the influences of new arrivals were woven into community celebrations. The Winterhaven Festival of Lights is a prime example of this weaving effect that began very modestly and grew right along with Tucson. Historian, Ken Scoville will explore Christmas memories from the recent past and those beyond the living memory. Discover how Christmases more than a century ago provided the same anticipation and excitement as they do today!
