People are often drawn to researching the past to find out more about their family history. Sports puts a great deal of emphasis on past accomplishments; baseball and golf are certainly at the forefront. Maybe you purchased a home in a designated historic district, and you want to restore the interior. Whatever the motivation, your study begins with a place. There is no escaping the geography, the people involved, and their decisions and actions in your research. And then there are those pesky questions you must answer: who, what, when, where, how, and WHY?  Historian, Ken Scoville will discuss local resources available at the Arizona Historical Society and the University of Arizona Library Special Collections as well as some of the multitude of online resources to help you begin your detective work.
