“Steele Blue” is formed by vocalist Sheal Kimball and guitarist Mike Zimmerman. We cover and arrange diverse genres of music, from classic rock to jazz standards.
Sheal is a professional female vocalist who is also a current member of the renowned singing group the Manhattan Dolls. A graduate of the University of Southern Maine, where her studies included jazz and classical voice, her main influences include Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Peggy Lee, as well as Ann Wilson (Heart) and Pat Benatar.
Mike is a guitar instructor and performer of diverse styles of music. A Guitar Institute of Technology (G.I.T.) graduate, who also studied classical guitar under founding University of Arizona guitar professor Norman Sholin (M.A.), his expertise ranges from rock, blues, R&b, to classical and jazz. Influences include Larry Carlton, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Wes Montgomery, Ed Van Halen and Christopher Parkening.
