He will deliver a presentation on the history, methods, and materials of Navajo Textiles. Mr. DeWald will focus on the designs, forms, and processes utilized by Western Apache, Yavapai, Akimel O’odham, and Tohono O’odham weavers. Terry DeWald has been a prominent dealer, lecturer, appraiser, and author in American Indian Art for more than 50 years.  A variety of Navajo textiles from the Desert Southwest with additional pieces from California, the Great Basin, and the Northwest Coast will be available. This Trunk Show is an incredible opportunity to learn more about the region’s nature, art, and culture and to acquire fine examples of vintage and contemporary Navajo weaving for your collection.
