About the Artists

Everton Maia was born in Itabira/MG, Brazil. He started playing guitar at the age of 7 with his father, Eugenio. He graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in guitar performance from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) in 2018. Afterwards, he continued his education at the University of Arizona, where he graduated with his Master’s Degree in guitar performance in 2022. He is currently pursuing his DMA degree in guitar performance with a minor in jazz studies and a minor in composition at the University of Arizona. Everton plays a 6-string guitar made by Paulo Marcos and a 7-string guitar made by Cassio Martins.

Lisa Masuyama is a Japanese-American flutist, sketch artist, and marketer. She was born and raised in Tempe, Arizona. Lisa graduated her Bachelor’s in Music with a minor in Russian language studies at the University of Arizona in 2023. In 2024, she has graduated from the Master’s in Science in Marketing similarly at the University of Arizona.
