Let’s harvest water! Join Coyote and Quail from Transforming Terrain LLC for an informative session on water harvesting basics. This workshop will help participants assess a landscape’s health and function, and brainstorm on building a design for that space. Come with a design in mind for your own yard, community space, or even an imaginary landscape (photos optional). We will emphasize assessment for rainwater harvesting and go over the basics of passive water harvesting. We will then do a group activity around design creation and critique, followed by a talk about problem solving tips and tricks.

This workshop will be from 1pm – 2:30pm, but Coyote and Quail will stay an additional 30 minutes to support people who want to review their design.

We will specifically cover:

  • How to check the topography of your landscape
  • Identifying water supplies, problems, and outlet
  • The basic benefits, purposes, and applications of passive rainwater harvesting
  • A native plant list, and special tips and tricks on plant selection based on soil and water supply
