Director of Finance –

Tohono Chul seeks an independent, yet team-oriented and energetic Director of Finance who will thrive in a fast-paced environment and who is well-suited to working collaboratively with the Board of Directors, staff, docents and volunteers.  The Director of Finance is responsible for providing monthly financial statements and an annual budget to the Board of Directors and Management Team.

Ideal candidate will demonstrate strategic, big-picture thinking backed by an added focus on the tactical aspects of the work that seeks and accepts decision authority and responsibility while effectively weighing risks against the benefits.  Ideal candidate must work at a faster-than-average pace with the ability to learn quickly and delegate appropriately.  The candidate will be an incisive communicator while being direct and self-assured in dealing with others.  Candidate must also recognize and adjust quickly to change. Director of Education –

Tohono Chul seeks a team-oriented, energetic and enthusiastic Director of Education who will thrive in a fast-paced environment and who is well-suited to working collaboratively with a small staff. The Director of Education has direct responsibility and oversight for the delivery of educational programs which reflect Tohono Chul’s overall goal of connecting nature, art and culture in the Sonoran Desert region as well as interpretation of the site itself and the visitor experience. In addition, the Director of Education supervises the Interpretive Programs Manager and Volunteer Services Coordinator in Education and the Curator and Assistant Curator of Exhibitions in Exhibits, as well as assisting other department directors and the Executive Director as requested. Responsible for the quality and appropriateness of Tohono Chul’s public programming, the Director of Education develops and maintains relationships with other museums, botanical gardens and community organizations, interacts directly and indirectly with members and guests on a regular basis and plays a key role in ensuring an exceptional visitor experience. Volunteer Services Coordinator –

The Volunteer Services Coordinator is responsible for the advancement of the volunteer program at Tohono Chul through the active recruitment, screening, orientation/training, scheduling and supervision of Tohono Chul’s volunteer corps. The Coordinator also interacts directly and indirectly with the visiting public on a regular basis and plays a key role in ensuring an exceptional visitor experience. The Coordinator’s duties involve leadership, planning, administration, record keeping, and supervision.
