An Arbor Day Celebration — Featuring the State of the Garden Address

Free for Members
Free with admission for Non-members

As the spring sun warms the Sonoran Desert, Tohono Chul invites you to join us in celebrating Arbor Day on Saturday, April 29th, from 10 am to 1 pm.

During this festive event, you’ll have the chance to learn more about the work Tohono Chul does and how you can get involved in the community! A variety of tables will be set up featuring information about our activities, events, and programs as well as displays from our partners and staff. Attendees can also enjoy live music in the performance garden, purchase delicious food & drinks from the Garden Bistro, and so much more.

Our State of the Garden Address will provide an exciting opportunity to hear from our Executive Director, Jamie Maslyn Larson. She will discuss the future plans for Tohono Chul and how we aim to beautify, diversify, and address the climate concerns facing the region.

Entertainment

11:30 am – 1 pm | Performance Garden
The Cochise County All-Stars

Enjoy a special performance by the popular local Americana act, the Cochise County All-Stars, in the Performance Garden!

The Cochise County All-Stars (CCAS) started their musical journey 15 years ago as a strictly honky tonk band playing the jukebox country hits that were popular when Route 66 was Main Street USA. Over the years a few natural additions and subtractions have led to a tighter, more refined group of seasoned professionals who perform songs they love – free from any particular style or genre.

A CCAS show can easily feature a Hank Williams tune back to back with an obscure Latin rock instrumental followed by a popular jazz standard. It all works when you have a group of talented musicians who have joined forces to present an eclectic selection of songs that have been influential in their personal development as musicians and represent a vast array of great songwriters.

The five-piece band comes from a variety of backgrounds, both geographically and experientially, and no matter what genre they perform, they bring their best. The toughest question that a CCAS band member can take is “what kind of music do you guys play?” but the easy answer usually includes “there’s always something for everyone.”
