Kenyan recycled metal artist Kioko Mwitiki made a name for himself repurposing wire and support bars from poachers’ illegal traps, turning the metal into works of art that celebrated instead the animals they had been designed to capture and kill. You may be familiar with several of Mwitiki’s pieces on the grounds of Tohono Chul. This small bird is a reminder to that natural world we are all working to preserve.
