Join Children’s Museum Oro Valley this Friday and Saturday from 10AM-12PM for a storybook time, featuring the book “Nana’s Beans”.

Background on Tepary Beans: They are native to the Sonoran Desert and are thought to have been the first domesticated wild plants in Northwest Mexico. Teparies have apparently been cultivated by desert-dwelling indigenous peoples in this area for 4,000 years. One thousand-year-old archaeological remains of tepary beans are commonly found in ancient Hohokam sites.
