Originally a 16th century pottery tradition from Talavera de la Reina in Spain, today’s Talavera is from San Pablo del Monte in Tlaxcala and the cities of Puebla, Atlixco, Cholula and Tecali in Puebla, Mexico and is a type of majolica or tin-glazed earthenware.
