Twilight Sonoran Unveiling — A Celebration in the Garden

I Heart Art returns for a full day of creativity, music, and community at Tohono Chul! Join us from 8 am to 5 pm for a daytime celebration centered around the unveiling of our newest and largest mural, Twilight Sonoran by Ignacio Garcia.

Throughout the day, enjoy live art demonstrations from local artists, hands-on painting activities, live music with the Beatle Brothers (11am-2pm), and plenty of fun for all ages. Grab food and drinks from local vendors, relax with picnic-style eats in the Garden Pavilion, and snap photos by the mural. Kids can explore creative activities in the Children’s Garden while adults soak in the art, community, and beautiful garden atmosphere.

  • Picnic-style concessions and cash bar from the Garden Bistro
  • A full day to explore the gardens, enjoy local flavors, and celebrate art, nature, and community

About the Artist

Ignacio Garcia is a Tucson-based muralist whose work celebrates the culture, landscapes, and stories of the Sonoran Desert. Born in Agua Prieta, Mexico, and raised across the U.S.-Mexico border, Garcia draws on his bicultural heritage and deep connection to place to create large-scale murals that pulse with life and meaning.

With over 40 public murals and 60 private commissions, Garcia’s art blends bold imagery, storytelling, and emotional depth, often highlighting inspiring women and local culture. Painting exclusively with brushes, he transforms walls into immersive narratives, bridging communities and honoring the Sonoran spirit.
